
The Caithness Long Island Energy Center (“CLIEC”)
is owned by Caithness Long Island, LLC, a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Caithness Energy, LLC ("Caithness"),
a New York based independent power producer.
Caithness is a privately-held company that
specializes in the development, acquisition,
operation and management of environmentally
friendly, fossil fuel projects as well as wind,
solar and geothermal renewable power projects.
Over the past thirty years, Caithness has been
involved in leading-edge, environmentally-friendly
renewable and non-renewable power generation
facilities. Caithness and its affiliates have
successfully developed, operated, and owned
interests in 42 operating power projects including
over 3,000 MW of gas turbine projects, 1,190
MW of wind projects, 495 MW of geothermal projects,
160 MW of solar projects, and a 110-mile, 230
kV transmission line running from Dixie Valley,
NV to Bishop, CA.
Today, Caithness is currently developing wind,
solar and natural gas-fired projects while invested
in and providing O&M and asset management
services for over 2,000 MW of capacity in the
United States.
